provides customized literary services to individuals and organizations so that their written word creates professional and powerful impressions.

BLS is owned and operated by Vancouver-based Julie H. Ferguson. A freelance writer since 1971, she is the author of seven nonfiction books for writers and teachers, three on Canadian history (Dundurn), and three memory books using online book builders. Her one-on-one coaching practice guides writers who seek either commercial or self-publication for their books and/or articles.

Julie is also a sought-after professional speaker and trainer who delivers keynotes and break-out sessions  at writers' conferences and teachers' pro-d events, and instructs for a community college. Her lively presentations are known for their brain-based insights, practical approach, and immediate value. Julie is a proud member of the Professional Writers' Association of Canada, the  Federation of BC Writers, and the Plain Language Association International, and formerly of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
